Granted, it was a small dose. I tapered off of it, and never had any withdrawal symptoms. I was also on Zoloft, and stayed on that. Anxiety can cause a lot of symptoms. And if you're anxious about going off the meds, and you're already an anxious person, I truly believe there can be a reverse placebo effect where you make yourself sick even coming off the meds slowly. I have had every test imaginable, and the Gastroentonoligist said it was definately the medication (ativan and saphris) I stopped the saphris but I had to continue with the ativan because of the anxiety. I was taking 1 mg 4 times a day. Without even thinking about it I went down to 2mg. I was so sick. I couldn't eat or sleep, and the nausea was the worst no matter what I ate. This went on for 6 months! The nausea was followed by an empty hallow feeling, no matter what I ate I could not get full, and when I did eat a lot to get full I was nauseated. I had twitches, heart palipitations, convulsions. hysterical crying. It was hell. I'm finally down to 1mg. and have stabilized with the nausea. but I've also added fish oil, b12, and a multi vitamen with excercise. you just have to train your mind to relax, and not worry so much, because it could kill you!
